Dwnsth, you must check your tw every trip or almost every trip it sounds like.
Do either of you guys happen to know your ra weight hooked up ready to roll down the road as a comparison. Anything loaded in the bed?
I don't check tongue weight every trip, only when I've really changed the load. No one makes an aftermarket hitch to handle more weight for the F150HD. It's my fault I'm close on TW, I've added dual batteries and have the 2nd AC. If you don't own a Sherline scale, then I think everyone who tows a large trailer (yes even the 350's) should have one to see where they are rally at before heading out the driveway.
For comparison, here's my loaded ready to go truck weights at the scale. No trailer:
-------GAWR-----Scale--Diff
Front..4050.....3700....350
Rear...4800.....2880...1920
-------GVWR
Total..8200.....6580...1620
So, I guess I could be like the full floating axle guys and ignore the GVWR and go with my axle ratings....I should have gotten the 5th wheel then :)
