Taking the highest camper load at 2800 lbs for a reg cab 4x4, plus 3 people at 450 lbs equals 3250 lbs of total payload. So 50 lbs shy of the max listed....Close enough for my rear end any how! If ford is not using 150 lbs per person, but say 160-170, we would be in the 3300 lbs ball game.
One has to know which numbers to look at, and how they add up etc.
