Yes might be a long time before mobile construction and excavation equipment gives up diesel. Although I could see some converting depending on the situation.
For years some of the underground mining equipment has run on electricity.
Yes I was thinking scrapers, bulldozers etc. Even a crane could be fully electric. Many construction sites have temporary power. Just pull direct or charge overnight.
Yes even some of the largest strip-mining is powered by electric. Just need to pull the wire to these very slow moving machines.
