Electric shovels have been around a long time, batteries not included. Example - Bird_FreakExplorer IIAnd how long has it been since the class 8 EV was promised to be out?
- Another bailout coming...
- pigman1ExplorerNo problem. There's still going to be a need for large vehicles capable of traveling long distance in areas where there's not a recharging station on every corner. I'll deal with them.
These fools are not selling vehicles, they're farming the government for every cent the politicians are willing to give them through subsidies, grants and funding useless research. When there's really a breakthrough in the field people will naturally use it WITHOUT being forced into it because idiot, graft taking, lying politicians are buying their votes with more give away's. - BB_TXNomad

I agree. They are building solar farms and wind turbine farms as fast as they can. And simultaneously shutting down dirty and inefficient fossil fuel power plants. There will be a huge increase in capacity in ten years. EV battery and charging technology is improving rapidly. Super fast charging stations can now charge at the rate of 20 miles per minute. That’s 200 miles in 10 minutes. About the time to go use the restroom and grab a snack.
In spite of the deniers, it is going to happen. Cummins12V98 wrote:
Our vehicles are already very clean. So where is the power going to come from???
Well, in our case it comes out of a socket in the wall. I’ll let B.C. hydro figure out the rest. They don’t seem to be too worried at this point. Cheap like borscht.- Cummins12V98Explorer IIIOur vehicles are already very clean. So where is the power going to come from???

That is not as far fetched as it seems.
We've seen tube TV's become obsolete. Vinyl records are a novelty, CD's are gone. VCR's history.
Pay phones are gone and home phones are fading fast.
EV are certainly on the horizon and will take hold fast.
Those in the know understand the ICE can't compete with EV's.in passenger vehicles.
