As an aside to all this, when the DW and I decided to get a TT we rented one to see what we needed.
What we needed was a TV with more than a 200 hp.V-6.
Believe me with a top speed of 60 to 62 mph on the flat and 50 to 55 on anything that resembled a hill; weight and weight distribution was way behind on the list of priorities.
The TT stopped and pulled well but getting up to speed took a bit of practice, as did keeping the tranny from down shifting too low.
There is a lot more to TVs than just weight ratings and WD hitches.
