First camper was an 8' Skamper circa 1970, east west bed, ice box, hand sink pump, no toilet,
tripod jacks on a new 1975 GMC 3/4 ton two wheel drive 350-4, 4 spd standard. This took me out west to BC in 1975. I sold the camper and truck shortly after arriving. In 1983 I bought a new 1983 Ford F-250 4x4 6.9 diesel regular cab and used it to haul a 1979 9.5' Security camper. We took this all over the northeast. Had a toilet and pressurized water! In 1990 bought a new Bigfoot 1500 series camper in Edmonton Alberta. I had a 1990 F-250 S/C 4x4 with 5.8 litre gas engine 5 spd at the time that was utterly gutless. Traded it in for my 1991 F-250 S/C 4x4 7.3 IDI diesel 5 spd which I still have today. In 2011 we bought our current 9.5 Northstar Igloo U which we carry on our '03 Ram diesel. Have had trailers between campers but in our travels much prefer the camper for many many reasons.
