I have no idea who is supposed to do it (apply vin sticker to door pillar). When I bought it I had a flatbed haybed put on it. I would think the manufacture location would put that information on since that information relates to the frame, axle, etc... The upfitter would only be looking to make sure they don't exceed those numbers with what they install. By the way... My haybed probably weighs around 2000#. I need the lift capability of the haybed to load my solar skid. I could probably find a lighter weight flatbed which would help reduce my gvwr issue but then the question would be do I want to switch beds on a 14 year old truck. The body on this truck will be in pieces before I ever wear out the engine.
