It's the Same Cummins engine and same Aisin tranny if not mistaken as in the 3500....just a MUCH more beefed up suspension on the 5500 with higher GVWR, GCWR and higher axle ratings.....but if you want to spend even more money...believe it would be a good choice if that's what you need.

I haven't done any price comparison and from the data it looks like a newer model RAM 3500 would take care of my needs. Since I haven't pulled trigger yet, just throwing out ideas on the wall to stimulate discussion.
