Beautiful photos you took. I think we will meander that way the next time we head south for some photography. We were midway on our 6 week trip in September/October when the government shut down all the USFS campgrounds. WE mostly boondocked but several time scamped in USFS campgrounds. One was posted, 2 others were not. No gates so we camped. We were really tired those times so who is gonna kick our two old people who don't like to drive at night? Maybe this will make you feel better that we defied the USFS. This was in Oregon so maybe they aren't as anal as California.
