Yukon XL 2500 replacement shocks, recommendations ???

I have read almost all of the previous post on replacement shocks for 2500's but am still confused.

We have a 2008 Yukon XL 2500 that I have been zeroing in the towing package, but believe that the last thing needed are replacement shocks for the OEM units still on the TV.

The TV has 55,000 miles, and does not have the auto-ride system

What would be the best replacement shocks that will help with towing?

(Still having limited porpoising depending on the road condition)
  • JW,

I ask the same question concerning my 2005 Dodge 2500 pickup.
which heavy duty replacement gas shock should I buy?

after many responses: it looks like I may go with Bilstein B6 shock they run around $75 ea.

they sell this shock at Geno's Garage for a Dodge vehicle

this shock might be worth a look see for your vehicle
  • I just disabled my factory AutoRide at 142,000 miles because I needed to replace the shocks and couldn't afford $270 each. I was going to get the Bilsteins and a few folks suggested the KYB Monomax's as a good alternative. Just got back from my first camping trip with the new shocks and am very impressed about how they control the truck and trailer. Ride is firmer but not too harsh. I got the KYBs at Rock Auto for about $60 each.
  • Bilstein or KYB Monomax. I've had both on Chevys. I like the KYB better.
