At no time in my 50 years of driving have I had to make a full throttle start. I suggest that if you have had to, you are not qualified to operate on the public highways.
Yeah, I agree, a full-throttle start towing a heavy load would be crazy. In getting my 22 seconds, I had a normal start and never floored the accelerator. Didn't see the tach at the 1st to 2nd shift, but it was at 5,000 rpm when shifting from 2nd to 3rd (redline is 6,300). It does mirror hill-climbing for me--on steep inclines, the Honda is in 2nd at 3,500 to 5,000 rpm.
