Thank you, Rincon, for your information. I started this thread because I keep thinking I should upgrade my Pilot for a more robust tow vehicle such as a Dodge Durango, but in actuality the Pilot tows pretty darn well at my usual 55 to 60 mph. It does have to huff and puff up long, steep inclines, but I am getting increasingly comfortable letting the engine run up to 5000 rpm in 2nd when necessary.
It's coming down to a decision between the 2014 Dodge Durango with the 8-speed transmission that is being released in October, or waiting for the next generation Pilot with the direct injection V-6 that will probably be released in the Fall of 2014.
