Decided not to get the LP Generator, purchased a 60 amp DC to DC charger to install after I get the unit. I will bring my Honda 2200 that I converted to run on propane and gas for awhile to be sure I run everything without hopefully needing it.

haha you should have mentioned you already had a honda 2200i. that should fit in the genny compartment untill you decide if you need it or not. the truck camper we are looking at has a genny compartment the guy asked if I wanted it with a genny, I just laughed, he had a puzzled look and I said if I get a genny where am I going to store my camp stove and griddle.

Smart choice imo.
Have only had 1 camper with onboard genny and while handy to roll up and push a button and have unlimited power, I would especially for a TC just want to use the Honda when needed.
What model is the new unit?Genny storage is an act in creativity.
we had a couple 860s on short bed truck. So 3’ ish overhang.
First one, hauled genny and other stuff on a hitch rack. Great for additional capacity for genny lawn chairs firewood etc. but kind of in the way.
Second one, I built a shelf under the rear overhang for the generator. It required leaving the tailgate at home but was very handy. Generator was never in the way. Easy to get to. And could be left on the camper when the camper was removed. (Albeit I chained the generator to the truck bed tie down , but could have rigged it to tie around the rear jack. Just at the expense of scratching the paint. )
