Installed a sliding rear window in the F550
VIDEO: Installing A Sliding Glass Rear Window.
I got the Carlite OEM window at a wrecking yard for $260.00. The major chain installer wanted $850.00.
By going used and installing the rear sliding window myself, I saved $600.00, and got a Carlite Slider in perfect condition. It took half an hour to remove the existing basic window, and about an hour to prep and install the sliding window. I tell you, this project feels good to have completed and saved the money. The cats will be so happy to have their pass-through back. They loved it in the F250 and so did we. Increased storage and a place for the carriers, litter box, and food. I need to fabricate a new foam tunnel boot for the 7"x14"x18" opening with 3" foam cushion 30x72. The new larger AFE 3 core Radiator gets here after 08/15/25.
I have a couple more truck projects left and hope to start taking more roadtrips soon.
