Holy begeezerz! 4000.00 dollars!!!
That's a jaw dropper. Anybody with a 5500, 550, 4500, 450 series truck getting a better rate than that?
you can't declare it for personal use only and put the "not for hire" sign on it, or is that just for class 8 trucks?

You’re confusing with DOT regs which is irrelevant

no I wasn't as the regs that affect stuff like that is out registration. then we have the option of personal insurance, or if you have a company and are using it for the company to make money then you have to get commercial insurance.

Apologies, my point was just because that’s how ICBC does it, does not matter.
IDK why but I think it’s fairly universal in the states, at least the several I’ve lived in, that class 4 and up is only insured commerical. Even with a pickup body. Makes no sense to me either. A F550 used for personal and often only occasional use (not many drive a F450 around as a grocery getter) imo is no more risk than a lighter gvw vehicle. But that’s how it be.I don’t believe I brought that up specifically when Camper Jeff was talking about a F550 a while back. But another reason they are less practical or more costly unless you actually need a truck that heavy.
