The reason you don’t see them in stainless besides cost is the chemical composition of stainless that gives its corrosive resistance also makes it undesirable in pretty much all structural applications. Thats why you don’t see stainless used hardly at all except in appliance skins and cyber trucks and De Loreans. Hahaha
Sure you could over engineer minor components like camper tie downs that would still fit in their intended space and do the job but you wouldn’t want to pay for them. No idea of actual cost difference but I’d surmise you could buy several sets of mild or carbon steel components and pay to have them installed and removed before breaking even on cost
If that was a viable solution in structural applications it would be used everywhere.
Chrome plating would be the best cost/benefit imo….Well except local chrome plating shops are all but gone due to increased environmental regulations and different plating processes than in the past due to those regulations. Again, all boils down to $$$.
And some elbow grease, rattle can Rustoleum or other paint/rust reformer and topical sacrificial corrosion protection is the only practical real world defense we have.
