Thirteen Mile Trailhead Campground Fall Colors And Bear Surprise

VIDEO: Thirteen Mile Trailhead Campground Fall Colors And Bear Surprise

I stay at Thirteen Mile Trailhead Campground near Republic, WA. and enjoyed looking at the rich, intense, Fall Colors, plus, I get surprised by a large black bear running across the forest road right in front of me for a great and unexpected surprise. Unfortunately and as usual in these situations, I had just put the camera away and had to get it back out, turn it on, then record the bear which was gone by then. The hunters I was talking to told me they had spotted another bear foraging on the hillside in the distance above us. As I was leaving the campground, they informed me their battery had died in their Subaru. I pulled the truck up next to them and gave them a jump with my engine off. You don't want to jump start another vehicle with a dead battery because you stand a good chance of ruining the voltage regulator in your alternator. leave your engine off and just connect the batteries together with jumper cables, wait a couple minutes for the dead battery to take some charge, then try to start the vehicle. Remember to protect your vehicle first.

I think this is a old wives' tail started because some one didn't do it properly.  they even explain how to jump another vehicle in the owners manual.  you just hook the ground on your vehicle to a ground, not the battery directly.  in my years I haver been jumped and jumped hundreds of times and never had an issue.
