Truck camper mileage
I know these things aren't exactly fuel efficient or bought for that purpose but what sort of mileage are you guys getting with the camper on and is your rig gas or diesel?

- It totally depends on how FAST OR SLOW it's driven. And wind speed and it's direction. And if towing or not. And fuel type.
So. . .towing with a tailwind going downhill - about 22mpg
Towing going uphill with a headwind - about 8mpg
Even the slightest breeze will make a difference - and the difference will vary depending on travel speed. - With a 6.7 diesel and 855S, roughly 13-mpg. Typical freeway speed is kept around 67mph, though there are stretches of much higher speeds.
- From Grangeville Idaho to Hamilton Montana over two passes and doing the Idaho speed limit...11+ loaded and 13+ empty with the mighty '94/460 gas....Got 10+ on the same trip with a 21ft class C/460-'93...
Like MK mentioned earlier,I can make it get less..... - Head winds, tail winds, speed, stop and go, highway versus side roads, and finally mountains. Everything changes the mileage.
I kept track of every gallon of fuel for 70K miles in my 2010 Ram and am also doing this for my 2018 Ram. The trucks are similar, CTD with crew cab. The camper is identical a Northstar Igloo. Final weight for both rigs was about the same at close to 13K pounds.
The 2010 averaged about 12 mpg and rarely exceeded 13 or so on the highway. The 2018 does noticeably better at about 13.5 overall and often 15 on the highway. - Me and camper buddy each filled up in oregon at the same filling station. Followed each other down south into Nevada. Filling up again at the same place down there, using the same diesel pump, we both saw the nozzle click off within 35 cents of each other. - 10 to 14 call it 12 lot of factors matter. 2003 duramax 3500.
- Around 12-14 with my pop up Palomino TC. Less wind resistance equals better mileage 7.3 diesel hopped up a bit.
I'd never go back to a hardside. Don't even know it's back there unless I look in the mirrors and cross winds, no issue.
I never exceed 65 and most times I run 60-62. It's vacation not the Indy 500. - Usually average 13 with the camper & 14 with our trailer. Must have something to do with wind resistance from the high profile truck camper.

w/cabover camper (~4k loaded):
12-13 mpg, no wind, level ground at 65 mph
7.5 mpg with 25-30 mph headwind, level ground at 65 mph
15 mpg with 25-30 mph tailwind, level ground at 65 mph
7.5 mpg, no wind, 7% grade at 65 mph
17.5 mpg, no wind, level ground, empty truck at 75 mph
11 mpg, no wind, level ground pulling 10k bumper-pull TT or 12k 5th wheel at 65 mph - I used to get around 14 mpg with a one ton Ford diesel.
About the same as a medium sized TT.
