Truck camper value

I have an older SunLite truck camper (2005) in excellent condition.  I'm looking to sell it in the Spring and would love to have some idea what it's value is.  We purchased this truck camper together w/an F350 truck as a package from good friends over 10 years ago so I really have no idea how much it's worth by itself on the open market.

The ID plate on the back of the camper is completely illegible, the best ID info I have is from the sticker on the inside of the closet door which says it's a Sun Lite 866 SE.  I can't find anything comparable on the internet and it seems that the Sun Valley company no longer exists.  What model could this be and how can I find out how much it's worth now?

  • Value depends where you’re at, which you don’t say. But your camper is a basic 20 year old tin sided overhead camper, no slide. So compare to other brands of similar vintage and condition.
A similar Lance is worth maybe $6-8k in top condition and lesser brands $3-4k.
You’re in the same category as the latter, in the PNW where TCs are plentiful and dime a dozen.
Id imagine it’s worth a bit more if you’re somewhere where TCs are much less plentiful.
Short story, if you got $4k for it, that would be good.

  • Thanks everyone, this is super helpful.  I'm actually in Canada, although only about half an hour north of the VT border so easily accessible to the Northeast US.

Sorry to hear about the Lance campers, I've always liked those as an option if I ever get another camper.  First I need the truck....

REV group sold Lance campers. The new buyers claim to continue productions and try to enhance the brand so I am not sure it's bad news.

a lance isn't a high end model, its a middle of the road camper, but don't tell a lance owner that 🙄

  • I find JD Power's pricing not very good at all.  so it said in good shape it is worth about 6K US, but that is also going to change with the market your in.  so now you need to do a search on used campers and look for ones with simular specs and condition to see what they are asking and that will give you a true starting point.  just be mindfull most peoples asking prices are going to be a pipe dream because the market was artificialy high and has been dropping for the last two years..  the only thing this affects is if you use the "going prices" be prepared to come down in price for a good buyer.

  • I had no problem finding information on your camper when I googled it. Go here for estimated pricing..https://www.jdpower.com/rvs/2005/sun-valley-inc/m-865-se/2016161/values
