Hello everyone and it is great to be hear.

Have been camping all my life in one form or another. Started tenting at a young age, then after being married a while we bought our first trailer, used. We then graduated to a Class C, 30 foot no slides in 1995. When the gas prices started soaring a few years later (little did we know ("you ain't seen nothin yet") we parked it seasonally in  the mountains of western Maryland near the Potomac River.

After one season there and a RV show later, my wife declared, not another season in this Class C. So we traded that in on a travel trailer, a 2010 Prime Time LaCrosse 30 foot with one slide. Amazing, so much room. This trailer would serve as our base for 5 great years in the mountains, and another 5 years at the shore in Delaware, both seasonal sites. We didn't even own a truck. We paid to move it.

Then the travel bug (and another well know bug) hit and we purchased a 2021 Ram 2500 and took the show on the road. I can't praise that LaCrosse trailer enough, but after 13 years and a couple more RV shows it was time to upgrade.

In Oct 2023 staying with Forrest River we purchased an Arctic Wolf 5th Wheel (yes from a Good Sam dealer) and here we are.

Hope to see you on the road and around the camp fire.

Hi, I'm Kathy and my husband and I are counting down the days till retirement when we can go full time in an RV and start travelling around this big beautiful country.  Currently we have  28' Open Range (love it) that we pull with a Jeep Grand Cherokee aroung a few weeks a year.  Wish we could  do more but work keeps getting in the way!

Kathy, congratulations on yours and your husband's upcoming retirements; I pray you both enjoy very long, happy, exciting, healthy retirements together, experiencing this beautiful, amazing country we have, whether that be full time, or just as often as you two decide to experience it in your leisure time.  My late wife and I never did the full time RV route, but we experienced and saw so much of our beautiful country throughout wonderful loving 48 years together before she was called home 9 days before our 48th anniversary.  I sold that motorhome because it just wasn't the same after she and her favorite lab were called home, but I have recently purchased another one and my girlfriend and dog and I are going to experience our country again.

Welcome back. 👍🏽

I’m John retired Marine and real estate and due to circumstances I ‘m able to travel. Last year my Girl and I did the east coast about 13,000 miles on the motorhome. Had a lot of fun but the roads took a major toll on my 2021 Boundar so trade it all in and now have a 2500 chev diesel with a. 35 Jaco eagle and really like it so far. Still setting up things but in prep to head to Alaska in may then to nova Scotia. So if anyone else wants to go along for an adventure of a life time contact us, would love to have traveling friends. We live in Utah and own a lot in quartzite which we love going to also.

Semper Fi and have a very safe and enjoyable trip John.  Sounds like you and your girl are making the most out of life and your retirement; God be with, bless and keep you safe.  Sounds like you have a very nice rig and set up, and have a nice trip planned.  As I am just getting started back into this after taking a couple year break after my wife passed, I think I'll pass on trying Alaska for starters.  Best wishes.

Looks like you're a Marine,  thank you for serving.  Hope to make it to Texas early summer.  My oldest son lives near Houston.

Good morning Mike, yes sir - Vietnam Veteran Marine, 30+ year Wisconsin Law Enforcement Officer - retiring as Chief, and 6 year Texas State Investigator before retiring almost for good.  Our eldest son is a 30 year Marine retiring as Sgt Major, now a Cass County MO Deputy Sheriff.  Not sure where my travels will take me this year but I am pretty sure at least one location will be Arizona.  Take care - God be with, bless and protect you and your wife Bonnie during your travels.

Our thanks to you and your family for sacrifices in service to our nation.  Blessings also get a thank you and a return blessing for y'all and your travels.  Be well. FHL.

Semper Fi bro, Army here, 29 year, Vietnam 2 tour helicopter pilot.

Trying to stay east of the Mississippi River until we hang up RVing, which is not immanent. Stay safe.

Thank you for serving.

Thanks for your service Marine 🫡

Going from a motor home to a towable would be too much for us, so I wish you good luck.

Hello, My husband and I are from Holden Beach, NC. We are flying out to Oregon to pick up our RV in a few weeks. We want to see the California Redwoods, and then perhaps head home through Nevada and Colorado. We need to be back home in ten days. Do you all have any suggestions for us, as it's our first time driving across the US. Prayers are appreciated. Thank you in advance. Carol & C.W.

Good morning and congratulations on your new RV purchase from I am assuming an Oregon RV Dealer.  I am going to "assume" because of that distance it is a Class A; which is a little more comfortable to try to travel longer distances each day; but depending on parts of country can be more difficult to find RV parks it fits in for the night (however, if I have been pressed for time, I have taken advantage of sleeping in truck stops or waysides to keep moving having all my needs right on board while traveling)  Depending on what you are trying to accomplish, richardyood's advice that ten days may be a little tight may be pretty accurate.  When we were younger that would not have been a problem at all; today if I wanted to fly from one coast to the other, inspect and close on the RV, supply and equip it, do some site-seeing and comfortably drive back across country, ten days might be a little tight - but I could do it - because I know how to "safely" and "properly" travel making use of truck stops and waysides  on the days I am just traveling to save time.  Best wishes, God be with, bless and protect you with your purchase and your trip.
