Hi all, and welcome to the Good Sam Community — we’re excited you’re here! Take this chance to say hello and tell us a bit about yourself.

Whether this is your first time here or if you’ve already jumped into the conversations, kick today off with a quick, friendly hello. It’s always great to run into familiar faces further down the road.

So what’s the inside scoop? Your RV of choice. Where you like to travel. Where you call home. Need an icebreaker? Tell us where you would go if you could RV anywhere in the world. And finally, be sure to welcome others as they join!

Tracy, I wish you and your husband the best with your new to you Class C.

Certainly not trying to take any wind out of your sails, But I can tell you from experience that a "gifted" 15 yr old RV can quickly turn into a money pit.  A lot may depend on where and how it was stored, when it was last run, age of tires, roof integrity and general chassis and structure maintenance.  Unless you have more than just basic mechanical, electrical and plumbing skills, I'd have a professional assess your RV.  Under their advisement, I'd decide whether its worth putting some $$ intro it, or get rid of it. I happen to have skills in all the areas I listed above, and when I took on a gifted motor home, the parts and hours I put into it to make it useable was to a point where I was kicking myself for taking on the project.

That being said, I hope yours is in tip, top shape and you get many years of enjoyment out of it.

Thanks for the response. I had mentioned taking it to the nearest RV dealer- just to get it checked out. Hoping that will be done after the new year. 🙂

Hi everyone.  I am in the process of buying an Accolade XL and I need to get a Class-B license for the state of PA.  It weights in at 31,000 lbs and the limit for needing a Class-B in PA is 26,001 lbs.  I live in S-Central PA and need to find someone with a Class-B license to drive the RV home from the dealer in Harrisburg, PA to home and then to the DMV testing site.  I am willing to pay agreed upon hourly rate.

Wife and I, are new to RVing and it's community. Took our 1st trip and learned a great deal, but it was a success. We boondocked and discovered 110 plugs need a generator to run. Took the trailer off-road in the desert and it did great, being pulled by our 2017 Tacoma. It has an outside kitchen with frig, but frig plugs into a 110 outlet. To upgrade solar is $2K, to power my outdoor frig I plug into a $100-200 power station which recharges off 110 plug when it's active. The power station can be used for running a coffee pot, also. We also took our three dogs, who enjoyed the leash free freedom, no people around and our puppies listen better than most children. Trailer is in shop for some minor 90-day warranty issues, looking forward to future trips.

SPECIAL THANK YOU to Reno Camping World for all the education, help, support, understanding, and sometimes hand holding.

Hi @NVjayco199mbs , welcome to the community, and congrats on your first trip; sounds like a blast! Thanks for the awesome feedback about your Reno CW experience. I'll be sure to pass it along to the team.

PS, I wish my puppy listened as well as yours! 😂

Hiya @2Gypsytravelers, welcome to the community! I hope Red Cloud is treating you well. It's been years since I've been to TX. Need to put it on my list! 🙂

Welcome to our group. There is a lot to get from looking at stuff and asking questions

Welcome aboard. Had an Aunt and Uncle from Evergreen that passed away a few years back.  Beautiful country.

We love southern gospel concerts and that is where we travel to the most. We love week long singings with multiple groups. We also love the Amish country. We are lifetime members of Good Sam and proud members of the 7 Continents Club.

Appreciate the info on the grounded plug in bathroom. Yet, still no power to my electric step.
