Hello all and good tidings to you and yours!!!
I’m Darren semi retired and just getting rolling with my 5th wheel. I have a KZ Montego Bay it’s an 07 that spent 10ish years parked in a Barn. I feel like I got lucky and found a gem!!! I’m from the Omaha area originally but have traveled and moved on a continuum most of my life. So being nomadic is in my blood. I’ll be 50 + a few in Couple months and looking for fun places to visit. I’m in the hill country in central Texas. Heading to Rosharon TX in a couple days to go skydiving for a couple weeks. If any other sky babies are out there would love to meet up at a DZ and get a few jumps in. Also looking for fellow BASE jumpers. I’m only an ASE jumper and dearly need a metro savvy friend to help me get access to a Building. Preference is over 500’. I’ll be in AZ in mid to late Jan and feb looking to stop on the Moab area on the way.
I wish you safe travels and smooth roads and sunny skies!!
all the best
DB

Glad to join everyone. We joined Good Sam’s about 5 years ago when we started traveling. For the past 5 years we’ve gone to Tucson Arizona at Catalina State Park. Last year we upgraded to a new Airstream Caravel. We will be starting our YouTube Channel on all our travels and what has worked for us and what things didn’t. Looking forward to finding new places and new activities to do. Any pointers please reach out.

Hey there Y'all,
I'm Mac and my Girl Elizabeth we've been on the the road for 5 weeks. Leaving the Carolinas// Volunteering in western up above Asheville/Boone, than heading out west to Missouri than Nebraska than to Wyoming, WOW! Made our way down through, than Utah the whole height of Utah, stopped several places, yet a couple stick out, umm; Salt Lake City, we visited Kindigit/Bitchin' Rides Shop Amazing, except poor human relationships!!! Very disappointed!! Moving south ZION National Park, OUT Freaking Standing! Except the town before the national park, nose in the air people period.. Absolutely amazing Park PERIOD! If I had the opportunity to do it again, I would park my Super-C and drive my Kia thru, tha turn back around and come back to RV than drive through. It's not Talked about Enough PERIOD. Than on to Page Arizona, Anolope Canyons = Upper and Lower. SWEET!! 2 DAYS. 2 1/2hrs Grand Canyon, hold on. Than 4 hr bus tour! Out of this world.
2 1/2 hrs south Verde Valley, Oh my Lorrd! 4.5hr train ride, which = lunch & drinks, bartender guide + outside car guide with Mucho knowledge too.
You'll never forget it!!
Than another 2.5hr south,, big mountain your driving down which = Outside of Phoenix, we sent 5 days @ Championship week of NASCAR'S Best in Avondale. God help us all! Long story short, I lost a USMC brother of over 33yrs, due to his stupidity, yet Gained several new friends from Out west. We're less than 8hrs from home in NC and we are Thankful. Why you might ask? 1. Because after 5+ weeks of traveling neither of us had to pull our sidearm. 2. We met a whole bunch of new amazing friends. 3. This adventure has just Reinforced Our Love for Each other.
Thank you & to all reading the GS Community!
Semper Fi!

Hey there!! My name is Tracy and I was gifted a 2008 Forest River Lexington class C RV. My husband and I are really excited about using it but have no idea how to use it. My stepfather passed away in Sept. and my mom gave it to us, not able to explain how to use any of it. 🙂 We have to clean it up, do some maintenance on it then figure out where we are going to first. Hoping I can come here to ask questions and get the results we might need in figuring out how to have fun with this.
Looking forward to meeting all of you. 🙂

Ask away Mrs. MD?
You might want to know I've married not 1 but 2 Philips girls!
Both being maiden Philips names! We own a Super-C, a tad older than yours. Let us help if we can.
Lastly, I am very Sorry for Y'all's loss!

Thank you! Where in NC are you from? We live in Roxboro, North of Durham.
This project will be on going for a while. Once we get Mom settled into her new home (closer to us so we can better take care of her)- I think after the holidays we will be trying to get better understanding of this new toy. 🙂
Thanks again.

Tracy, I wish you and your husband the best with your new to you Class C.
Certainly not trying to take any wind out of your sails, But I can tell you from experience that a "gifted" 15 yr old RV can quickly turn into a money pit. A lot may depend on where and how it was stored, when it was last run, age of tires, roof integrity and general chassis and structure maintenance. Unless you have more than just basic mechanical, electrical and plumbing skills, I'd have a professional assess your RV. Under their advisement, I'd decide whether its worth putting some $$ intro it, or get rid of it. I happen to have skills in all the areas I listed above, and when I took on a gifted motor home, the parts and hours I put into it to make it useable was to a point where I was kicking myself for taking on the project.
That being said, I hope yours is in tip, top shape and you get many years of enjoyment out of it.
