Tonight I addressed the Burke County Commissioners on behalf of the Old Fella Burke County Animal Rescue. It was decided by the commissioners that we should set a date for a workshop meeting to discuss the entire project and how it could be financed. We are off and running! It will take months of planning before the actual building is purchased or built but I believe we have the commissioners looking forward to solving the problem of abandon animals in Burke County.
Old Fella will be proud of what he has helped to accomplished and you folks should be proud of what you have helped to accomplished as well. The strays of Burke County will soon have a shelter. We will save them one by one until there are none.
