Maybe a neighbor will help you out. Since you live in the country, maybe landscaping isn't quite so important to someone who would appreciate him for who he is.
I saw on another thread, however, that you are taking your cat Barney with you. I would think that he would bring along the same boarding issues you mentioned regarding Cy. :h
