Another option to go with allopathic veterinary care is acupuncture. It has made big differences in my old arthritic dogs and my working dogs. I checked the site where my vet was trained, and while I didn't find anyone in Augusta. I did find a listing in Washington, definitely much closer than Atlanta where we have tons.
