Help

Well first off I am sorry for my ignorance in advance! On October 25th I bought a 2017 Vista 29ve. (Preliminary), closed on my home on the 18th of November and proceeded to pick up the RV! Full car with family furnishings and pets, to an appointment with the sales manager and salesperson, we arrived at about 11:30am and rv wasn’t ready yet for us to move into! We waited all day and finally got everyone to our house. Then they tell us we have to corral our pets again and leave the rv for towdolly installation so again, after having them again for hours they told me that my car can’t be towed and they can’t make the car roll? I googled it and showed them the problem!!!!! And they brought it out and the dolly was attached incorrectly so the ramps were dragging and the back tires were skidding? He had my dolly set on a ball that was 3.5 feet off the ground with a 4” drop??? I told them immediately WRONG! And everyone swears correctly installed? Wtf? I wasn’t born yesterday so I’m very happy to say that state regulations are Ball height MUST BE 18-20” And mine was 27.75” off the ground? Then he changed the hitch and ball without pulling my car off???????? Warranty violation! And left! As soon as I got into the car and started it the codes were blinking and had 13chassis error codes? Now it’s the 24th and I’m still here yes car towed trailer unhooked and living in a parking lot until I get my car back (if ever again? ) So I’m asking you what would you do? Sorry customer!

  • Lots of missing details from your story and it sounds unfortunate that happened. But if I can summarize, they hooked up the dolly with the wrong hitch and height, tried to tow your car and damaged it in the process? What type of car? What's the proper procedure for towing it? If the rear wheels were dragging, are you sure your car can be towed? What are the "13 chassis error codes"? Not sure how to offer advice. If all the above is true, then the dealership messed up your car and needs to fix it. Sounds like it requires an attorney and a mechanic to detail the issues and why they were caused as evidence to support your claim.  The rest about the time it took and moving your pets is all just noise and distraction from the issue. Taking delivery of a new RV is a time-consuming process and should be planned for accordingly.
