4.4M earthquake near AK Hwy and Active Volcanoes in Alaska

Yesterday evening a small earthquake occurred between Fort St John and Dawson Creek near the Alaska Highway. Apparently the quake was felt in Fort St John and Taylor, B.C.

There have been numerous small quakes in recent months

Some are speculating the active volcanoes in SW Alaska are either the cause or effect.

  • Dennis, you're right, of course. I was thinking west and wrote east. As I age, more and more, my fingers type what my brain isn't thinking. No typos, just wrong information!

Sigh ... anyway, I corrected the location to "SW" in my original post.
  • Sue those volcanoes that are going off ,one is near Cold Bay the start of the aleutians and Cleveland volcano is about half way out the aleutians chain.
