Acadia to North Woodstock, NH to Dayton, OH

I have my route planned from Dayton to Cape Cod, to Acadia, but after that I'm sort of stumped. From Acadia it looks like the easiest way is to get on Rt. 2, to Rt. 115 (Owls Head HWY), and then drop down Rt. 3 on in to North Woodstock. Has anybody ever taken this route? I will be pulling a 26ft TT.

Now leaving North Woodstock and heading back to Dayton Good Sam Trip planner says I should take Rt 118 to 25A to 91 down to Rt. 4 until I connect to 90 in NY and then head west from there.

If I was traveling in Ohio I wouldn't think twice, but all these state routes in the mountains have me a little nervous. Any help would be appreciated.
  • Hi from NH! Rte 2 west across Maine and NH is fine for you, and I-93 south to N. Woodstock. Fairly scenic, mostly 2-lane. Just West of Gorham, NH, at the bottom of a good downgrade, unfortunately, turn Left onto NH-115, which will take you to Rte 3 south thru Twin Mountain, then intersect with I-93 just above Franconia Notch, then I-93 south. From N. Woodstock to Dayton, I would NOT take 118 west. South on I-93 to I-89, then north a few exits to NH Rte 9 south/west toward Keene, NH. Pick up I-91 just into Vermont. Scenic route is Rte 9 west across VT into NY, but some hills. Other option is south to I-90 west (Mass Pike). Still some hills on that route, too. Hope this helps. ST
