We're just south of the BC border near Sumas, WA, and will be heading into Canada next week (probably... we have been taking our time because of the weather). Looking for a good campground around Chilliwack -- those listed on another site with reviews all seem pretty poor options.We have a 32-foot Class C with toad; prefer full-hook-ups; good showers a necessity. We can put up with a lot, but prefer a park/campground that is relatively secure, clean, and quiet. We'll be traveling up TransCan to Yellowhead, then over to the Cassiar as we traverse the province going to Alaska, so any recommendations along the way you have, we'd appreciate.(Had thought I'd rely on The Milepost for campground/RV Park info but can see already that the paid advertisements could really lead us astray.)Thanks very much!

Found 2 possibilities: Bridal Falls Camperland in Harrison Mills and Springs RV Resort in Harrison Hot Springs. Good reviews on www.rvparkreviews.com

Not on the Trans Canada but close to Hope.Othello Tunnels Camp GroundThe tunnels are worth a visit.

Hope does have a couple fairly well rated campsites. I have not heard much nice about Othello Tunnel Camp Ground but have heard good things about the tunnels.Vedder Campground is probably the best in the Chilliwack area. Nothing special but would probably serve well for a one night stop.

In Houston BC we try to stay at the Shady Rest Park, a private one very well run and landscaped.Full hookups availableOn the Cassiar Hwy are three of the most beautiful parks in North America and are provincial.Meziadin Lake, Kinaskan Lake and Boya Lake on the north end of the highway. Boya is our favorite of the three. Have stayed at a private one just north of Dease Lake, Lakeside or River's edge or something like that (actually is Water's Edge) but a bit rustic for the price. They were just putting the CG in when we stopped, no showers, one outhouse for the campground but were working on it. If in the area and need a camp site, would be worth a drive into to it and check it out for yourself as it may be much improved since we saw it in 2009.Kinaskan LakeMeziadin LakeBoya Lake Possibly the clearest lake water I have ever seen.The Jade City store did offer free parking in the lot next to the gift shop. Fun stop even if not over nighting.Also a private campground in Vanderhoof that is nice, uses the owner's first name, has good WiFi and super clean showers and laundry facilities. Just a well run campground. Dave's RV Park is the name. (had to look it up) There is a grocery store in Vanderhoof called the Co-OP that has the most outstanding deli in that area, smoked meats, cheeses, well worth a stop. Dease Lake store also has a good deli where we will stock up on goodies.Don't remember finding a bad campground from Jasper headed west toward Kitwanga and on to Prince Rupert. The provincial ones are so nice that the private ones have to provide "extras" to attract business, which they do.

Although BC Provincial Parks are wonderful very few have any form of hook-ups and OP said they are looking for full hook-ups and showers.Security is not usually an issue in campgrounds in BC.I am not sure if OP is referring to highway noise, trains or other campers when she states she wants a quiet campground. Maybe all three. The Trans Canada Highway (TCH) shares river valleys with train tracks, there will be train noise as well as highway noise.Pick up a copy of the BC Camping book when you arrive. It will help you with what amenities are available in each campground.

There is a Camperland east of Chilliwack, turn off the TCH Freeway at the exit that says "Agassiz and Harrison Hot Springs," but don't cross the freeway again, it's a few hundred yards straight down the service road, just below the Bridal Vail Falls.

Thanks, everyone!

Have noticed that reviews for the Ksan campground near Hazelton mention a narrow, one-lane bridge for access to the campground.... words used to describe it are "impressive," "awesome" and "worth the excitement of crossing it."

Has anybody hear crossed this bridge? Can any rig size make it over okay? Should I warn my hubby driver about it or just treat is as a regular bridge?

(Yep... we are ultra conscious about our rig size, both height and width... have read so many horror stories!)

That's a term I used to describe a typical gravel pad in BCPP campgrounds. In other words the pad widens at the end, allowing you to park beside the camp table and firepit. Look at the maps that I referenced, or the photo.

Sasquatch is the prov park just beyond the town and hot springs. Much of the access road is gravel. I stayed there one fall night. My impression is it was more popular with Vancouver families than big RVs on the way to somewhere else.

From the maps I'd say all sites are P, no pull throughs.

I hear there is a nice campground up past Harrison Hot Springs. Never been there, just been told about it. About 40 miles from Chilliwack, which by the way is on two main train routes.

If you get to the other side of Vancouver, take the Sunshine Coast trip that leaves from Horseshoe bay. Involves three ferries if you do the Vancouver Island sections as well. bcferries.com
