Heading to Winnemucca from Beatty Nv. I have traveled the 95 route through Tonopah and Fallon then on to I80. How is the road from Tonopah up through Austin and Battle Mountain? I am pulling a 28 foot 5th wheel. Thanks

Nice, scenic drive. We've overnighted at a variety of spots long this road. Bob Scott CG is right off US 50 with easy access. Not far south of Battle Mountain, Mill Creek Recreation Area is right on Mill Creek which is a perennial stream. Kind of interesting to camp in the desert next to flowing water. A little further afield, Peavine CG is about nine miles west of NV 376 on a dirt up what appears to be a desolate canyon, but once at the CG, you're among towering cottonwoods next to a stream.

Great drive through the Big Smoky Valley, on 50 long grade up and steep grade down into Austin. Been that way many times when we lived in Pahrump and were heading North. Dick

If you are talking about the 376 out of Tonopah to the 50 to the 305:

I take that road 1-3x/year and never an issue.....40' MH with Jeep....Just watch the weather.....Although 72 today in Elko, Nv it can change quickly.....

The road though is very good ......
