Found a slightly different route. I-88 t0 I-81 then I-66, but don't take 17 continue on another few miles and take 234 to I-95. 234 is a great four lane road and is a better ride the 17. Less traffic lights and traffic. If you have a Virginia map check it out.
Will have to try that. I66 has way fewer steep climbs than I64. And I77 is even worse. I've been using I66 to avoid Blue Ridge mountains and the very heavy truck traffic on I81. The only way to drive I81 is to go slow in the right lane and force all the trucks to pass. Love I95 once you hit Georgia and Florida, nice smooth 3 lanes. My two overnighters are Fayetville RV in Wade SC and Coastal Ga in Brunswick. Both have nice level pull thru's for large class A's with toads plus easy on/off 95 but far enough from road noise.
