Best Route from Flgstaff to Prescott Valley

Will be heading to Prescott Valley from Flagstaff and wondered which route is better 17 or 89A?

17 south to hwy 169 then right on 69

Two routes I can recommend:
I-40 west to Ashfork then south on 89 to Prescott and left on 69 to Prescott Valley.
South on I-17 to exit 278, hwy. 169 to Dewey then right on 69 to Prescott Valley.
Some sections of 89A over Mingus Mountain are restricted to 30 feet maximum.
There is some construction on 89 16 miles south of Ashfork at Drake but it will not pose a problem, just be ware.

Yes I 17 south to AZ Hwy 169 Takes you into Prescott Valley, AZ. I might add a nice RV Park in PV is called The Fairgrounds RV Park.
