Chuck and Bill, thanks for great imputed. Yes I am staying in cherry hill. Is the easy pass worth getting for all the toll roads?

I have it...but I got mine from NY state, and i don't remember paying up front except for the first $25.00 deposit....what it does is lets you use the e-pass lanes without stopping, just drive thru at the posted speed...really better than getting in stop and go traffic
I also have Sun Pass in Fla...for the same reason....just drive right on by....but really is a personable choice.....Chuck

The EZ pass is great if you can use it frquently. I called Main before heading north and they told me it would cost me 80 dollars just to sign up. So I passed gas on the EZ pass. Felt better after. ๐Ÿ™‚

IMHO - Yes. It will save a lot of time - the EZ pass lanes are almost always faster than the others. In some areas, you don't even need to slow down. (We have not reached that 21st Century luxury here in MA yet, but the EZ Pass lanes are still better.

No toll on the TapZ when heading back south! That's when I tend to use it. Is the construction complete on the I84 toll bridge? It was a real mess the last time I used it. Went up 209 this year to avoid it and the big hills.

Good question,I went over it in April when I headed south and don't remember a problem and coming back in May ,I used your route up thru 22 to 33 to 209 to 84,a route we haven't used in quite a few years, so missed the NB bridge.....
Ya know, yrs ago, there was a great little rest on 209 after the center of Milford, right next to the garden ctr,,,called Elmers...so we all used that route and stopped there, parking in the motel across the street....Chuck

I have a plan to travel after rush hour after I tour DC.

If you are staying at Cherry Hill..come out of the c/g and turn left and go up to 95 north...to 695 north to 83 north up to Harrisburg to 81...81 east to 78 east into NJ then 287 north to Sufferin,NY...take 87 north..toll...to 84 east in Newburgh,NY and cross Hudson River there...less traffic and cheaper toll...also the roads are better than going to Scranton...and the traffic better that 95 in NYC and Ct...
Cross Ct on 84 to Sturbridge,Mass and get 90 east to Boston.....
Not sure where you're staying..but 90 take right into Boston...Chuck

Spot on Chuck. You and I travel many of the same roads. I have had good luck with the Tap Z to 684 to 84 in Danbury too if not rush hour.

Yes we sure do and even stay at a lot of the same campgrounds....
I've been that way, but always seems to be some sort of construction on that section of 287 in the White Plains area....and i think the NB bridge is cheaper than the Tap...but it probably somewhat shorter over the Tap...Chuck

This is all great information, thanks. I was thinking of getting a easy pass for the toll roads. What is the average fee for the toll roads?

College park is where Cherryhill is. Best location near DC. You can take the subway right to the Capital area. The office will give you the info. The Garden State is a nice drive anytime other than am or pm rush hour but it is a toll road. There are routes to Maine that greatly reduce tolls if you are interested.

I will be staying in a camp ground in college park, Maryland. Outside of DC.
How busy can the garden state parkway be after rush hour?
