New Jersey it happens so the scam does happen in the states. - Talleyho69ModeratorHonestly, we have had just as many transactions come up as "not completed" in Mexico as in the US. It appears to be a factor of the phone lines. Again, just keep an eye on your statement, and it's not a problem. Sometimes they have been completed, but take a while to show that. Don't sweat the small stuff, the credit card companies have our asses covered.
- moishehExplorerI have never been scammed at a gas station anywhere North of Mexico. BUT in all my years of traveling in Mexico I have been sold short litres and have had attendants try all kinds of scams. I can still remember when they had the mechanical pumps and would jimmy the lever so the pump would not go to zero. Only in Mexico do you have to watch for these tricks! Like a hidden tax!

- Talleyho69ModeratorHappens in the states, too.
That is why you keep an eye on your charges on line, and contact your card provider with problems.
Friends had it happen at a restaurant in Zihuatanejo last night, called their card provider, it was taken care of immediately.
