Big Rig 50 Amp Sites at Whistler and Tunnel Mountain Trailer

I will be visiting Whistlers Campground in Jasper and Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court in Banff in a 45' RV.
I have read that there are a limited number of 50 AMP in these RV Parks.
Does anyone have any information on THE SPECIFIC Site #'s that are 50 AMP? Also, photos or would be great!!

Can't imagine needing 50amps in the mountains. Simple awareness of what is turned on should keep power needs well under 30amp. Knowing what is on which circuit leg within coach or trailer helps too.

Some things like hair dryers and coffee makers are high current items but are only used for short periods of time. Modern TV's use only a couple of hundred of watts. We've converted all our 120V lighting to LED's so we don't draw more than 100W for all of it. As full-timers sometimes we get 30A sites and have learned to adjust to them just fine. Even in the summer we can live just fine (for a while) with one A/C running. With all due respect, you really don't have to have 50A all the time.

We've been doing this long enough that we just adapt to whatever power is available. I added a second 20A circuit so that we can use 30+20A when available.

But the SW summer time and it's 50A or keep on trucking. :B

Yah but that stuff all runs off the inverters. I have a dedicated separate 60 amp smart charger installed that I plug into a 15 amp supply, or garage plug, or whatevers handy in situations like that. Coach acts like its plugged into 30 amp service, charger and the battery bank does the rest. But yah I get what you are saying, for the average RVer you need to do a little power management if you are running 30 or 15 amp service.

Hmmm. I don't ever remember seeing a 50 amp service in Tunnel mountain. Having said that I can't imagine needing 50 amp for anything. For that matter I can;t image needing more than 15 amp service in that neck of the woods. Just get a 50 to 30 adapter and you will be fine.

We stayed at both Whistler's and Tunnel Mountain last July and had 30A sites at both. As someone else has already noted, we didn't need to use A/C once at either location so it really didn't matter. We had plenty of sunny days but I think the highest we ever saw while at Whistler's was ~75F. We thought it was amusing that our "neighbors" at the next site who were from Edmonton thought it was necessary to turn on the A/C that day because it was so hot! :B

Bring the various adapters and you can get by anywhere without 50 amp service - we hwve done it for years. Besides why, in Banff area do you think you will need 50 amp service. Hardly ever any need for air conditioners in the mountains.
