Hate to get back to the original subject. Being one of the few truck camper people who prefer Mexico to as one friend said *a Texas wrinkle ranch" The question comes up as to what will happen or has happened to the 5th wheel and TT folks? 90 percent of the 5'er folks are in at least a 3/4 ton truck or does a 5'er or TT allow the truck an exemption?

We are looking into a small MH for this winter.

I understand the post, but no one that I've seen has been turned back that was towing a 5er or TT. Post if you hear. Tequila suggests TCs go through Nogales.

What is the answer to the question about the 5'ers, or doesn't anyone know yet?

Medium duty trucks are usually F550 or Freightliner. They have never been allowed although I have seen a few.

Yes we do have a 10 year permit, one time at Columbia a guy just decided we needed one and slapped it on the window, it has never been looked at since. The question wasn't about our situation, but what happens to the much more common than us TC folks, to all the others who have "medium duty" trucks?

On-line permit ploy didn't always work the last time, and by the sound of it might be less likely to work this time. I thought Mike already had a 10 year permit but given the uncertainly, it is a long way to drive only to find you can't get across the border let alone to rented accommodation way down south.

Maybe the Caravan operators will get involved again and find out what the real situation is.
