- valhalla360NavigatorBut they are opening up Europe, China, Iran...you can't make this stuff up.
- Extremely frustrating.
I noticed that they announced November for opening to Internationals traveling in by air.
Would be nice, and just plain thoughtful, if they would announce a date for the reopening of the land borders too. - LwiddisExplorer IIIn this fluid Covid situation, a solid reopening date isn't possible.
- jdc1Explorer IIIf everyone were to get vaccinated........
- moishehExplorerIt makes no sense. Canada has a larger % of population fully vaxed than the USA. If Canadians pose a risk then the state of Texas should be closed off. There has been a lot of pressure from Chuck Schumer and others to get that border opened. No valid reason to keep it closed. I am not a conspiracy theorist but there is something being kept from the US public.
- Talleyho69ModeratorI spent some time this afternoon trying to find out the reasoning behind the US not opening the borders and couldn't find anything.
You have our sympathy. We sure hope that the Canadian road travelers aren't stuck in Canada for another winter. - moishehExplorerApparently Biden wants the CDN. and Mexican border open at the same time. Presently Mexico does not have the virus under control. Therefore both will remain closed. Unbelievable!!!!
- Talleyho69ModeratorCan you post a link please? I couldn't find anything.

I haven't seen Mexico reopening ever being mentioned as a condition to reopen the border to Canada. Have you?
Basically, they offer no explanations.
Here is another event - every week something of this sort happens, a few senators demanding to open Canadian border, White House has no answers. This time WH coronavirus response coordinator said that "given the Delta variant of the coronavirus, we will maintain the existing travel restrictions at this point." Hardly a valid explanation, considering that "Canadian" variants are not different from the US variants, given the semi-open border. It's the variants from overseas that they should be concerned with - but they already announced the reopening of flights to the US from Europe and Asia.

If that was the case then nobody would be crossing to and from Mexico....yet our border crossing numbers are huge. Every condo hotel or house that is available has been rented this whole year by American tourist , who then can return to the USA from Mexico, every Friday there is a huge influx from the States and every Sunday or Monday there is a huge exodus from Mexico.....so the idea that Mexico doesn't have it under control is lost on that fact. My drivers who are Mexican cannot cross the border in the vans but the American Citizens drivers can. They are coming from the same country, the only difference is citizenship.....there is more to it than that!
