My family and I have a cabin east of Clinton and drive that road about 5 times a year. It is very curvy and hilly between Clinton and Harrison, but it is scenic, the roads are smooth, and there are many passing lanes up the hills. From Little Rock to Clinton and from Harrison to Branson is all 4 lanes.

I recommend stopping for breakfast or lunch at Ferguson's which is just north of Marshall. We have had no problems with a big motorhome pulling a toad through the north side of their lot. For a more adventuresome side trip drive down to Gilbert which is just east of Ferguson's. It has an RV campground and access to the Buffalo river. There is no off street parking except for the campground, but it is a sleepy little town off season and parking on the road is no problem.

There is a WallMart in Conway, Clinton, and Harrison right on 65.

Can't address the route question but just to have a different point of view, I love Branson and cannot get enough of it. Matter of fact there is a great Forum devoted to Branson which reviews the shows, the restaurants and all things Branson. ( can't think of the name at this moment but easy enough to find).

Part of the route that might bother a flat lander would be from Marshall to Western Grove. It gets narrow and curvy as well as hilly. There is a long pull going out of Clinton and a steep grade a mile north of Dennard but these are nothing compared to out west. You'll have lots of company, seems like hundreds of campers of all sizes use it everyday

65 is a good route, if not the best, to take.

Big steep ups and downs and a ton of them ALL the way there.

I did that trip once pulling a TT. Never again. I also didn't find Branson a place I would go back to ever. Just saying IMHO.

Just drove from Conway/Little Rock to Branson last week.
The road is good, lots of ups and downs.
Had no problems towing my 38ft 5er....
and I am not a seasoned driver.
Several long runs up (with third lane for slower traffic)
and down.
