Bringing alcohol in RV to Mex.

I know that coming back to the US you can bring one bottle of spirits or wine or one six pack only, never took any in to Mexico.

There is no federal limit on the amount of alcohol a traveler may import into the U.S. for personal use, however, large quantities might raise the suspicion that the importation is for commercial purposes, and a CBP officer could require the importer to obtain an Alcohol and Tabacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) import license (which is required for all commercial importations) before releasing it. A general rule of thumb is that 1 case of alcohol is a personal use quantity - although travelers are still subject to state restrictions which may allow less.

I don't know where Mickey of that info and it may be correct, but I am concerned when they don't know how to spell tobacco. Just an observation.

We always cross to MX with quantities of wine. We can find most anything else in MX - depending on where we go. Beer is much cheaper. We have never been asked about booze at the border in either direction.

A lot of what we' ll be able to tell you is personal experience. We've always taken quantities of wine with us heading south. Never a problem going either direction, but , we were asked once going south about alcohol but no enforcement. Our crossings have been at the Lukeville crossing

Can they enforce more, yeah so might want to do a little research .

I would think... If you take alcohol into Mexico and then bring it back across the border just be sure that the tax stamps are still attached to the bottles lest you may have to pay taxes on them. While you can bring in as mush as you want, the tax man will still want his share beyond a liter per person.

We head south with wine. However, we do semi stash it, so if Aduana wants to look in our bays, and inside, it won't jump out at them. There are legal limits as to what you can bring in to Mexico. Yes, occasionally people do get fined for bringing over the legal limits.
When returning to the US into at least California and Arizona, the legal limit is one liter of any alcohol per person over 21 years of age. Period. More, you'll have to dump out, and can be fined.
I understand, if you re-enter in Texas, you have the ability to pay fees on more than the 1 liter, but you'll have to look that up yourself.

If you live (residence) in the border state be aware of possible state regulations.

i.e. My home is a dry county in Arkansas. The cops never get the college students for illegally having alcohol. They get them for having beer, wine, hard spirits with Louisiana tax stamps and not paying for Arkansas tax stamps for 'imported' alcohol.

California Rules on Alcohol Importation
Arizona allows 1 Liter of alcohol per adult to be imported. They don't care where it came from originally, it all counts.
