I don't remember if it was shown in The Milepost but a few weeks ago I spent two nights at the RV Park about 5 miles west of the town of Chitina, right on the short road to the Chitina airport. Wrangell View RV Park. It was unattended but full service. They took cash or checks. You just sign in and pay at the kiosk. I only have a travel trailer so used a 30 amp hookup, did not pay attention as to whether or not it had 50 amp service but assume it did as there were larger RV's there. It was a good place to stay as from there the road east to Chitina and beyond gets a little tougher but then I was surprised to see some big RV's at the McCarthy footbridge. For me I would not drag an RV over the road to McCarthy.

It's just a normal dirt road with a few rocks on it near the cut banks. You shouldn't hesitate to go up it. It's wide and decently maintained.
