Does someone have current fuel prices along the AlCan highway, heading to Alaska (could you please indicate if you're using USD and US Gallon OR CAN and liters?
THanks!
Go to: link - kayakcrazyExplorerTry this tool for pricing https://www.gasbuddy.com. Here in Canada the unit is a Litre and pricing is per litre in Canadian dollars. You can also get the site in an app for your phone. You don't say when you're coming up this way. if you are coming up between now and the end of April be prepared for the snow. Happy travels.
- TrackrigExplorer IIThe most expensive place to buy fuel is at the Hub in Glennallen, AK. So buy enough fuel in Canada to get you further towards Fairbanks, Valdez or Anchorage. If you have to buy fuel in Glennallen, only buy enough to get you someplace else.
The Canadian provinces are like the states in the US - different provinces have different amounts of taxes on fuel. So as said, check Gas Buddy.
Bill - 2gypsies1Explorer IIIYou're heading to Alaska right now?
- sue_tExplorerIn Yukon, winter prices are much less than during tourist season. Now we're at 111.9 Canadian cents per litre. In summer, it could be $1.30 per litre. That's for regular unleaded.
Price will be different along the Alaska Highway in British Columbia, and higher in the communities in Yukon. - The_real_wild1ExplorerUse gas buddy as mentioned. You also didn't say what kind of fuel??? Diesel or Gas?
- free_radicalExplorerFwiw
I noticed that prices fluctuate depending on what day of the week it is,,
before long weekend prices always go up,,come wendsday prices usualy drop, sometimes as much as 10cents per litre..
Im in Ontario but its probably same all over the country.. - The_real_wild1ExplorerThere is no understanding the fluctuation in prices now. It used to be long weekends but now prices go up and down every few days here.
- SBradleyExplorerOnly two places with prices that are outside of the normal range Beaver Creek just before the Canada/Alaska boarder and Glennallen as mentioned in an earlier post.
If coming from Canada fuel at Haines Junction, if you need to top off before entering Alaska fuel at Destruction Bay the price is reasonable. Once you reach Alaska wait to fuel at Tok, eat at Fast Eddies great food, all the locals especially in the winter gather there to socialize.
Have a great time. - The_real_wild1ExplorerWhat is normal range? Gas prices just jumped up 25 to 30 cent a liter in the last week. Diesel jump up about 5-10 cents. Like I said no rhyme nor reason, just more people on the road for the holidays and greedy owners.
