Day 6

Great day! We woke up to 60 degrees, clear, bright and sunny! We've hit a lot of rain so this was awesome! BTW/How much does mud weigh? Because I have a ton of it all over the van and camper. Hey! I just answered my own question! Okay, so breakfast outside with an awesome view of the surrounding farmlands and mountains.

Off to Loray Caverns! Only four miles from the CG! First the Antique car museum. It was awesome!!! Late 1800s to early 1930s. Horse drawn wagons and buggies to Rolls Royce Sedans. I've taken pictures of thousands of cars over the years and added a bunch to my collection at this museum.

Then the toy museum! They had displays of toys set up from different time periods starting in the 1850s. When we got to the 1960s DW and I were amazed at how many of the same toys we'd had as kids. "You were butch" I told her. "Yeah well you were such a girl." She answered. The fight continued! It got ugly! She told me she wouldn't have sex with me again until I admitted I was a girl! I didn't see that coming... I wasn't emotionally prepared for the loss. I just wanted a hug.

We found a great place for a picnic back at our camper! Chicken and cheese stuffed ravioli in a medzo/medzo sauce. A fresh salad. Same beautiful view. A short nap ending with a clap of thunder and pouring rain. Perfect time to go back to the caverns and go 16 stories underground!!! Seriously, the caverns were magnificent! We like caverns and caves and have been to many of them. These were awesome!!! So worth it!

We drove around looking at the many farms. We went through the historic district which was small and not overly impressive. Back to the camper for a Barbeque of cheese ring sausage, caprese salad, and rice. We ate inside because of the pouring rain. :W and watched a movie. "The Gray". I picked it. We hated it. I've lost movie picking privileges until further notice.

Oh I get it... You don't like what I write so I should stop writing it. Dude, just don't bother reading it. Certainly don't waste your time responding to it. Glad we cleared that up. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Have a great day!

Keep on writing, but some photos would be a nice touch. The Truck Camper forum has been doing trip reports for years with lots of photos. If that guy posted what he said in the TC forum he would get hammered.

I find this interesting. I'm also a member on Cruise Critic as the wife and I are taking a cruise for our 40th anniversary. Everyone gets all excited when someone does a live thread of their cruise. Pics, info, comments, all live as if you were there.
Lots of times its very entertaining especially if the poster has a good sense of humor. Much more fun than reading about someone else's bad cruise experience.
Just like on here, who really cares if a neighbor dog barks too many times at the CG.
For me I like the ongoing posts. Especially with pics.
BTW I hate facebook. ๐Ÿ™‚

Sorry you took mild offense to my post. I was not criticizing you but just trying to help you out and help make the forum run smoothly. I'm done.

I guess I don't understand how it is "so hard" to sift through this "stuff". Do you see all the "stuff" on the main forum list that is repeat upon repeat upon repeat?

Just skim on by like I do for every topic that I don't care to read about. I really don't understand...If a Mod has an issue, I am sure they will say something and deal with it. Other than that....ignore the posts!

To the OP: keep writing ! To those who don't want to read it....don't read it.
But also to the OP.....pictures would be very cool to go along with the writing.

If I understand the statistics correctly, there have been 622 views of this thread in a single day. My take is 600 of us are waiting for Day 7. Please don't let the remaining few discourage you from continuing to post!

First, and I want to be really clear about this: I am not in any way responsible for the behaviors of others' simply because they choose to make me the object of their behaviors. People who like to complain, control, or manipulate others for their own convenience or pleasure will continue to do so if not to me then to someone else. Nor will I concern myself with silencing them when it takes no effort whatsoever for them to NOT read what I write. Lastly, I have no responsibility to entertain or please anyone. My responsibility is to conduct myself in a civil way and not bring or cause harm. I do believe in all sincerity that I am maintaining that standard.

As for your opinion, thank you but my wife and I don't share it. This is how we want to share our story and it is ours to share. We are the ones living it and we are the ones writing it. Those who don't want to share it are more than welcome to skip over us. For those of you who are enjoying it I think everyone appreciates your input and adding your own story to it. I know we do.

We are very happy to continue on this way.

^^^^Like this. I have enjoyed reading your posts and look forward to the. You and your wife are doing what my wife and I cannot wait to do. Love falling along with the experience.

Oh for crying out loud. Is this not an internet forum about RVing? Are the OP's posts not about RVing? Are we really going to create rules where none exist because some people are (for some unknown reason) irritated because the OP is having fun telling others about his travels?

So all being equal, the mod should create (if he/she has the power) a new forum topic called Trip Reports, or similar, then those who are so upset can be made happy because they don't have to notice a new "Day" topic.

If not possible, then I see nothing wrong with it. If you don't like it, then start a thread about tires, how other people do things differently, dog poop, or how it's stupid to wear gloves while dumping, or why your mods are better than anyone elses. Maybe a rant thread dealing with people who post trip reports.

I've seen etiquette posts about dump stations, campground behavior, how not to park at a rest stop, how to act at a gas station, LT vs ST tires ad nauseum, but trip reports?

A recent thread wonders where all the old time posters on RV.net have gone. Well, you have your answer.
Experience without good judgment is worthless; good judgment without experience is still good judgment!

Yeah, keep posting, make it all one thread.
