Directions to Truck Crossing at Tecate

If you are familiar with Tecate, there is a square (Zocalo) on the main street, the street that you are looking for is the East street going North.

If you are standing at the square facing North, towards the U.S. the street is the one on your right, one block east of the old entrance.

The other way to get there is on Presidente Pascual Ortiz Rubio, you can try this street, it comes out at a 45 to the entrance for the cargo, the Police might let you cross or they make you go to the end of the line.

If the barrier is in place you will be SOL, give it a try.

Of the entrances the one to the east is the cargo entry, the lanes are wider and veer off towards the cargo inspection area, the east entrance is for the cars, they can use both entrances when the cargo entrance is not in operation for commercial purposes.

There is no other entrance Tecate is a small port, just the two, East cargo West cars.

navegator, thank you, but I think you misunderstood my question. I don't want to join the two lanes of passenger cars working their way towards the crossing on the road along the border - I'm very familar with how to get to the crossing in a passenger car. I need to know how to access the TRUCK/COMMERCIAL crossing. I've heard that heavy transport trucks access the border via a different route and cross in front of the two lines of cars just before they enter the crossing.

Can anyone clarify the situation, thanks.
