Drive time Penzoil 400 Las Vegas

Looking for an idea of how much time to allow to drive, via the 15 freeway from say the central area of Las Vegas to the Las Vegas Speedway on Sunday the day of the Penzoil 400 Stock Car Race. I've driven it several times on normal days, and I'd say it typically takes 25 minutes or so. I know the traffic will be worse the day of the race, so just looking for how much time to allow. Thanks

It's not as bad as the "news" reports make it sound.

BUT......the "management" bends over backwards to please the TV broadcasters and then complain when on-site attendance is down....AND complain that the TV audience is down too....when the broadcast is on a "cable" channel.

Part of the problem is that about half of the "local tracks" have disappeared over the past 30 years or so.
THAT is where the initial interest in stock car racing is generated.

Too many geezers, self appointed moderators, experts, and disappearing posts for me. Enjoy. How many times can the same thing be rehashed over and over?

I vote for arriving 5 hours ahead of time. Is there a prize?

If you are really worried about traffic, plan to ARRIVE at least 3 hours before the race, maybe 4.

And on race day even if you go early you probably should allow 3X the "normal" drive time.

Given the time you have supplied, I think you should leave home about 4 1/2 hours before race time. That way the traffic will be heavy but should still be moving.

(Posted from Daytona International Speedway !!)

P.S. And this advice applies to most ALL of the NASCAR tracks for the Cup race (usually on Sunday).
