- ken56ExplorerYou know how the weather is...... you just don't know.... especially coming from Ohio. Around here the roads are or should be OK for the most part but if a winter storm should develop then we may get a dusting in the lower elevations but the mountains are totally different. My prediction is that the roads will be dry and just fine as that has been the history here. If you are looking to go over New Found Gap, the NPS is quite diligent about the condition of the road and will close it if they think necessary. I-75 is usually well kept too so the trip down, short of a storm, should be just fine too. Happy travels.
- ken56ExplorerI should add that we have no snow here and if we do get it, it doesn't last but a day or 2. Until this cold snap we have been in the 40's and 50's and should be close to that at the end of the month. I started mowing my yard at the end of March last year. That's why we left Michigan.....we love it here.
- Loving_God_s_CoExplorerThank you so much for your response! I definitely know the weather is unpredictable but thought I'd ask anyway! My husband and I just needed to get away for a bit and am looking forward to this trip! :)
- MoteExplorerMy wife and I went to Gatlinburg for our honeymoon on Jan. 21. The weather was 60 degrees all week. But then again we've been there in early November and there was three feet of snow in the mountains but Gatlinburg was clear.
We go back every fall around the first weekend of Nov. We love it there.
