Excellent Drinking Water

To any travelers coming into Canada, south of Calgary.
There is a small town on the Highway 2 called Nanton. They have the sweetest best tasting clear healthy drinking water, they get from a spring that supplies the town.

The water is world famous. Apparently there is a town tap, that can be used for free.

However - when in Nanton AB do not miss the Bomber Command Museum of Canada. This museum of World war ll airplanes ( and earlier) and the men who manned them. The memorial Wall contains the names of over 10,000 Canadian men who died while serving in the Bomber Command.
Always worth a side trip to visit this free museum if you are in the area.

  • Back when gas was $.27/gal (~'72), we used to drive from Santa Monica to Jumbo Rocks in Joshua Tree NP just to fill up 1gal milk jugs from the spring fed spigots in the middle of nowhere. About 150 miles each way..

    'Twas really good water..
  • I understand the very best mountain spring water can be found in a bottle of Coors . . . .
  • There were fresh water springs around the area where I grew up. I agree, spring water is amazing. Very cold, very refreshing.
