If you're visiting Memphis before LBL, consider North Mississippi - either Sardis Lake, Enid Lake, or the Tenn-Tombigbee Waterway. Other camping options might be TN Pickwick State Park (located near point where TN, MS, and AL converge). TN Natchez Trace SP on I-40 for the Memphis-LBL drive.

Thanks Jim. We have stayed at Gunter Hill. Loved it. We usually travel I65 so looking for something different. Thanks for the heads up about Land Between Lakes. Checked rvpark reviews and saw those comments. Personal experiences tell volumes. Thanks

I 65 is a good route. There is a wonderful COE park in Montgomery, Alabama. Stay on the new side and have full hook up, several pull thru's, wide and long concrete pads. It is on the Alabama River. The name of the park is Gunter Hill. With a senior pass you can stay for $12 a night. In Ky., we stayed at a park in Land Between The Lakes just outside of Cadiz, KY. It was Lake Barkley State Park. I cannot recommend it because of it being unleveled sites and long distance to shared water and electric hook ups. Next trip we stayed at a private campground in Paducah, KY. I can't remember the name, but it was a better experience. There are also several very nice campgrounds in North Alabama should need to stay in that area.
