Is it a good idea to take route15 and 17 to bypass Washington?? On road now....thanks!

YES. We use I81 - I66 - US17 - I95 for our trips to Syracuse. Sometimes take US15 to I81

Worked for us several times in years past..but haven't been over the roads since our daughter moved from the DC area to Charlottesville in 2002.
If it's like everything else in the area..the traffic has had to have gotten much worse.
