Where I live the price of diesel fuel yesterday was $1.33 a litre. Southern Ontario, just across the river from Detroit, MI. It goes up and down like a toilet seat depending on the day or whether or not it's a holiday.

Last week gas was 98cents/L, diesel $1.27/L. We extract it from the ground right here and it's piped direct into the refinery which is also right here in Alberta.
Gas prices vary by area and can change twice daily. There can be a difference of up to 10 cents in a 5 mile area. Expect higher prices just before long weekends or holiday time.
Google "canada fuel price". Add up all the prices, then divide by the number of entries to get the average. That should keep you busy the rest of the day.
