Gas Station

Will be driving from San Diego to Yuma in a few days on I-8. I don't have enough gas to make it all the way to Yuma. I am looking for a large enough gas station along the route that has room at their pumps for a 33' gasser towing a dolly and car.I generally use the flying j rv pumps when available due to convenience. I try to be careful where I fill up as I don't want to be put in a position where I have to unhook the car and dolly if I have to back up. Thanks ahead of time for any help.
  • El Centro probably has a place big enough.. I use google maps put in "Gas Stations near El Centro" and then take the little yellow man and check out the street views near ones that I go to. I've found that most gas stations along freeways can fit big rigs. But I wouldn't fill it up. Gas is about a dollar cheaper in Arizona
  • Why not go fill up w/o dolly BEFORE you leave.....55 gallons ought to do it
  • You can't drive 200 miles on a tank of gas :)Sure glad I'm not driving your rig. You won't have a problem in El Centro.
  • There numerous full-service gas stations between San Diego and Yuma. Being from San Diego and having retired 14 years ago to Tucson I have made that drive 67 times. As Noted the Golden Acorn Casino is about an hour east of San Diego, you could easily top up there.

At the bottom of the grade west of El Centro, there is a large Chevron station at Ocotillo. El Centro has dozens of gas stations but remember gas in California is well over a dollar gallon higher than Arizona.

    Good luck.

    :C
  • That corridor carries literally thousands of toyhaulers, fifth wheels, "A's" and "C's" each holiday weekend. Gas Stations abound that will easily accommodate your rig. Enjoy the trip.
